settled

I must have saved up enough credit, because I'm cashing in. Luckwise, I mean. Things have worked out so easily, perfectly I guess: Senior English all day long, good kids, textbooks for every child, a discipline system in place, an administration that takes discipline seriously. Materials in my room, a nice big desk, third period free. Of course there are always those things one suffers-- endless meetings where the principal scolds the faculty and tells anticdotes for hours, eating into classtime, pep rallies, eating into classtime, teacher planning days, eating into classtime (and getting the students an opportunity to get into trouble), no eef money, broken computer, mystery schedules, and That One Kid who seems determined to get into it every class. But, for the most part, I'm very happy. The house is great, I walk to work, I like my town, my school, my kids, my roommate, catfish, juke joints, good old boys, the local cops, the fact that everybody in town knows who I am and most of them are overwhelmingly friendly. That whole small-town vibe. Tres villagois. Dig it.
